The guest house sat among redwoods with an old wood deck and wood railings that had seen their years. The owners wanted the entrance to feel clean and welcoming for visitors.
We replaced the deck (255 sq ft) and both sets of stairs (28 sq ft) with Eva-Last Apex Plus in Brazilian Teak, and closed the whole base in with 160 sq ft of deck skirting in the same boards, so the deck reads as one solid piece. Behind the skirt there's under-deck storage with its own access door.
The railing is 44 linear feet of powder-coated aluminum cable railing, with RGB LED railing lighting built into the rails. In the evening the entrance lights up softly, and the cables keep the view of the trees open.
Two neighbors liked it enough to ask for our card.
