Composite skirting closes in the base, with a door for under-deck storage. Aluminum cable railing has lighting built into the rails. Project cost: $36,000 to $42,000 for the whole project.
See the Scotts Valley projectHow are Apex Plus decking boards made?
Apex Plus decking boards have a PVC core with glass-fiber reinforcement and an ASA cap, according to the technical data sheet. The reinforcement claim applies to the decking boards, not automatically to fascia or riser boards, which the US brochure marks Non-GFR.
Apex Plus and Apex are distinct product names in Eva-Last's US material. For an Apex Plus project, use the Apex Plus documents rather than borrowing specifications from the neighboring Apex section.
Apex Plus colors
The US Apex Plus palette lists Himalayan Cedar, Chestnut Cedar, Brazilian Teak, Grey Slate, Alaskan Driftwood and Carbonised Osage. Confirm the current order options for your project; this published palette is not a stock list.
Our Almaden and Scotts Valley projects show Chestnut Cedar and Brazilian Teak in completed installations.
What will an Apex Plus deck cost?
- New deck$50–75per sq ft
- Full replacement$50–80per sq ft
The calculator gives a composite planning range, not an Apex Plus quote. On level ground, the overall range is $50 to $75 per sq ft for a new composite deck or $50 to $80 per sq ft for a full replacement; delivery and hauling away the old deck are quoted separately. The minimum composite size on level ground is 150 sq ft.
Apex Plus and Pioneer usually cost more than Infinity. Height, slope and difficult access affect the price and minimum size. Use the range to plan, then go over the Apex Plus scope at the visit. The written estimate comes within 24 hours of the visit.

In Scotts Valley, the work also included the entrance stairs and enclosed base. The Almaden and Scotts Valley project pages show the work stages and the finished decks.
If your project is a surface change while keeping the existing frame, ask about deck remodeling instead of assuming it has the same scope as these projects. The existing deck needs its own assessment.
Apex Plus warranty coverage
Eva-Last provides a 50-year limited residential warranty on Apex Plus boards, subject to its terms. This is a material warranty with conditions and exclusions, including exclusions for removal and installation labor. It does not promise that the color will never change.
Our 3-year written workmanship warranty is separate. So is the 1-year Eva-Last labor warranty for Eva-Last decks; the periods are not combined.

"There was no sales pitch. We compared three Eva-Last lines: Infinity, Apex Plus, and Pioneer. I could explain what the job needed, get a clear answer about each option, and choose Apex Plus with confidence."

I work as a general contractor, and one of the biggest parts of the job is knowing which crews you can trust with a piece of a larger project. For a residential project in the Almaden area of San Jose, I brought in MS Construction and Services for a substantial exterior scope: about 480 sq. ft. of Eva-Last Apex Plus composite decking, a roughly 250 sq. ft. pergola, and about 54 linear feet of aluminum picket railing. What I appreciated most was that our conversations felt like two contractors working through a project together. There was no sales pitch. We compared three Eva-Last lines: Infinity, Apex Plus, and Pioneer. I could explain what the job needed, get a clear answer about each option, and choose Apex Plus with confidence. The deck, pergola, and railings were separate parts of the scope, but the team kept the finished space as a whole in mind. As a general contractor, it is a real relief when I do not have to explain every detail over and over or wonder whether another crew sees the bigger picture. With Mike and MS Construction and Services, it felt like we were on the same side. Questions were handled directly, decisions were clear, and I could keep my attention on the whole job instead of watching every step of their part. This was a substantial scope, and it was genuinely satisfying to see the deck, pergola, and railings come together. The finished result felt cohesive rather than like three unrelated elements added one after another. That is what I value in a good subcontractor: a crew that takes responsibility for its work and gives the general contractor confidence that their part of the project is in dependable hands. I would recommend MS Construction and Services to homeowners and general contractors in San Jose, especially for outdoor projects that combine composite decking, a pergola, and railings.
"We used composite Eva-Last Apex Plus boards in Himalayan Cedar and the beck was done with a picture frame edge and a wrapped step on two sides. It looks great, was completed on time, and passed city building inspection with no issues whatsoever."

We are very pleased with our deck! MS Construction did a fantastic job with our recent new deck construction. We used composite Eva-Last Apex Plus boards in Himalayan Cedar and the beck was done with a picture frame edge and a wrapped step on two sides. It looks great, was completed on time, and passed city building inspection with no issues whatsoever. We would use Mike and his team again for another project and highly recommend their services!
Questions about building with Apex Plus
Can I see Apex Plus projects with different colors?
Yes, our Almaden deck uses Chestnut Cedar, and our Scotts Valley deck uses Brazilian Teak. Both project pages show the completed work and the build stages.
Is Apex Plus the same product as Apex?
No, Eva-Last presents Apex Plus and Apex separately. The Apex Plus specifications and warranty are the relevant starting point for the boards described on this page.
Is the fascia also reinforced with glass fiber?
Do not assume that it is: the US Apex Plus brochure labels the fascia and riser boards Non-GFR. The glass-fiber-reinforced PVC description here refers to the decking boards.
Is the bottom of the composite range an Apex Plus starting price?
No, it is the lower end of our overall composite planning range. The calculator does not separate the Eva-Last lines, and your written estimate prices the agreed Apex Plus scope.
Does the long board warranty cover the whole deck and the labor?
No, the Apex Plus limited residential board warranty is not a whole-deck labor warranty. Our written workmanship warranty and the separate Eva-Last labor warranty have their own periods and terms.
