We take on repairs where something structural is wrong or a large part of the deck is failing: rotted joists or posts, soft spots or a floor that bounces, many boards cracking or rotting at once. Most owners didn't build their deck and have never seen what's under it — that's what the visit is for. Damage like this rarely stays in one spot, so we look at the whole deck, not only the board you noticed. Often the better money is replacement: see a replacement price online.
Small fixes — a loose screw, one board, a squeaky step, a single wobbly railing — are usually better value with a local handyman. We also don't work on tile or concrete deck surfaces, welded metal railings, or concrete and metal stairs. Not sure which side your deck is on? Text a few photos and your ZIP to (669) 219-1955 and we'll tell you honestly.
When we come out, you get a straight answer. The estimate is a fixed price for what we can see; if opening the deck uncovers hidden damage, we price it and you decide before we touch it. If the framing is still sound, we keep it — reinforce it where it needs it and put new boards on top. That costs less than building from scratch, and when there's a way for you to save, we'll tell you. If the framing underneath is done, we tell you that too.
Not sure which one your deck needs?
This points you to the right page; it is not a diagnosis.
Gray boards don't rule out rot underneath, and a frame isn't sound just because it is pressure-treated. We check the frame during the free on-site estimate; for a repair, text us photos first. Any one of the warning signs is reason enough to have the deck looked at.

How to decide: repair or replaceWhat a repair costs
A repair cannot be priced from a table: two decks with the same symptom can need an afternoon or a new frame. Text us a few photos and your ZIP first. We tell you which side your deck is on, and the price comes after we have seen the deck.

Questions about deck repair
Repair or replace?
Replace it if the frame has dry rot, if the posts, beams or joists are rotten or termite-eaten, or if it was built without metal connectors and joist hangers. An old frame in untreated lumber is a reason to look closer, not a verdict by itself. Repair it if the damage is local and the frame is sound. From photos we can tell you which side your deck is likely on; the decision is made after we look under it. More in our guide: repair the deck or replace it?
Do you take small fixes?
Usually not. A loose screw, one board, a squeaky step, a single wobbly railing or a couple of stair treads are better value with a local handyman. We take repairs where a large part of the decking or the frame needs work.
What happens at the visit?
Text us photos and your ZIP first. If it looks like our kind of repair, we come out, look at the whole deck and under it, and tell you plainly whether it is a repair, new boards on the existing frame, or a replacement. The estimate is sent within 24 hours of the visit.
