This deck had two halves with two different futures. One was past saving. The other only looked that way.
We replaced 811 sq ft of decking with Construction Heart redwood, hand-selected to reduce visible knots, and set it on the original framing — kept in place and reinforced where it needed it. Every fastener is hidden.
The remaining 460 sq ft got a full deck restoration: washed and sanded with Festool equipment. Then the whole deck, old boards and new, was stained with Armstrong Clark semi-solid, one tone across the entire deck.
The seam between the old boards and the new ones is hard to find. That was the point.
