Aptos projects come to us for the usual reasons: a deck that has outlived its framing, a slope nobody wants to touch, or a house that finally deserves the outdoor room it never had.
The proposal you get after the visit is the price. It moves only with changes you approve in writing, or with conditions we genuinely could not see until the old deck came off.
Deck permits here are issued by County of Santa Cruz. Under the state code a deck needs one unless it meets four conditions, explained in do you need a permit for a deck. Locally, above 18 inches over grade the county also asks for a site plan for zoning clearance.
