“I recently hired MS Construction to remove my old deck and build a new one, and the experience was exceptional from start to finish. …”
Most of what we do in Los Gatos is deck construction and full replacement, with the stairs and railings that come with them. We are a deck specialist, not a general contractor who also does decks.
Work is done by the same crew from start to finish under a written contract — not sold on to an unrelated deck company once the paperwork is signed.

What homeowners here said
“I had a very large deck that was in desperate need of replacement. Mike and his team took on the job and the result was fantastic. The deck is over 1,000 sqft, and about 10 feet above ground at its peak. The quality of work was outstanding and the project was completed in a very short period of time.”

“Our deck is old, but we didn't have the budget to replace the whole thing. Mike came up with a beautiful solution, within our budget! And Mike's guys were punctual, tidy, and professional. I highly recommend MS Construction & Services for all your deck work needs!”

“Mike and his team replaced our old beat up deck with a new redwood deck and did an amazing job. Our favorite carpenter in the crew was extremely skilled and showed a lot of care in his craft and approach. They also replaced our railings with cable, and treated and stained the wood. Mike managed the work well; He was very communicative and flexible throughout the project, making sure that our creative direction was fulfilled. MS Construction does quality work at a very fair price. We are very happy with and enjoying our new beautiful deck!”

Building here
Deck permits here are issued by Town of Los Gatos. Under the state code a deck needs one unless it meets four conditions, explained in do you need a permit for a deck. Locally, the town’s handout says decks under 30 inches above grade and accessory to a dwelling typically need no permit.
Two of the three projects above sit on hillsides; that is what most permit questions here are about.
