The old deck hung off a steep hillside with a view across the valley, and it was falling apart: weathered boards, tired framing and an old staircase.
We took it all out and rebuilt the whole elevated structure on the slope: new posts, bracing, beams and joists. On top went 1,279 sq ft of Eva-Last Infinity in Caribbean Coral, a light gray that stays calm next to the hills. 83 linear feet of redwood picket railing run along the edge and down the new deck stairs, finished with Penofin, and the base is closed in with lattice.
By the house we framed a 162 sq ft redwood pergola with a clear Suntuf polycarbonate roof over the seating area, so it stays bright and dry.
