Most of what we do in Capitola is deck construction and full replacement, with the stairs and railings that come with them. We are a deck specialist, not a general contractor who also does decks.
Work is done by the same crew from start to finish under a written contract — not sold on to an unrelated deck company once the paperwork is signed.
Deck permits here are issued by City of Capitola. Under the state code a deck needs one unless it meets four conditions, explained in do you need a permit for a deck. Locally, the city lists decks “regardless of height” among work that needs a permit.
