The old deck was painted wood under a wooden patio cover, and the paint was wearing off everywhere feet went.
We removed the deck and the steps and built everything new from the frame up: pressure-treated framing and footings, then 570 sq ft of Eva-Last Infinity in Oasis Palm across the deck and a wraparound run of steps down to the patio and pool.
On top of the new deck we assembled and anchored a 12 × 24 ft six-post louvered aluminum pergola. The roof louvers open and close mechanically, so the deck gets full sun or shade on demand. The homeowners picked the kit; we built the deck to carry it and did the pergola installation and anchoring.
